Program

Conversion of the former mechanical workshop of the La Seyne-sur-Mer shipyards into a cultural and scientific leisure site with an immersive museum, an innovation hub, a hotel, a restaurant, and a spa

"Immersion" is an ambitious project aimed at bringing new life to the former mechanical workshop of the shipyards, a site rich in history for the city of La Seyne-sur-Mer. At its heart, an immersive museum dedicated to the Mediterranean will be created, alongside an innovation hub focused on the sea and ecological transition, as well as a 4-star hotel, a restaurant, and a spa.

The mechanical workshop, abandoned for over 30 years, is set for a profound transformation. While the Eiffel-type metal structure and two of the three historic halls will be preserved, substantial work is required: site decontamination, rehabilitation of the historic halls, construction of a new building in place of the demolished third hall, exterior landscaping and greening, interior fit-out, and state-of-the-art technological equipment.

With its 3,400 m² immersive museum and 8,000 m² cutting-edge innovation hub — including a research campus, a startup incubator, offices, and a fablab — Immersion is intended to become an international reference for marine and ecological transition themes. For individuals, students, professionals, as well as authorities and industry leaders, it will serve as a space for awareness, education, and training.
