Program

Total demolition of the existing building and construction of a complex comprising a restaurant, six residential units, and an underground parking facility

Les Chandelles project provides for the complete demolition of the existing building and proposes a new complex comprising a restaurant, residential units, and an underground parking facility. The architects emphasize constructive sobriety, compactness, and the use of local materials to create a contemporary architecture fully rooted in its territory.

The architecture of the project is based on four founding principles: the simplicity of a square volume, measuring 26 × 26 meters, hollowed out at its center to accommodate a planted patio bathed in natural light; a symmetrical organization of spaces around this core to facilitate circulation; a sober and compact construction favoring local materials; and finally, the assertion of a contemporary architectural language, faithful to the strong identity of Les Chandelles.

The program includes a 150-seat restaurant widely open to the sea through a terrace, six rental apartments on the upper floor — two of which are accessible to persons with reduced mobility — and an underground parking facility with 20 spaces.

The façades reveal the site: large light-aluminum arcades facing the beach to capture 180° views over the bay, and solid local stone on the street side, engaging in dialogue with the built identity of Les Chandelles.
