Programme

Creation of an urban sport center.

As the cities of Aubervilliers and Pantin are lacking sports facilities, Sport dans la Ville, leader of France's sports association, has been working for several years on a project to build a campus for integration through sport in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Instead of positioning the main building as a filter or barrier between the street and the courts, its position allows the site to be perceived as a sports park open to the city. Open on both sides of its length, the building makes it quick and easy to switch from the world of multi-sports to that of basketball. With a footprint of 200 sqm and a height of 4 m, the building has two levels: a reception and meeting area on the ground floor with an infirmary, two storage rooms and toilets; changing rooms on the ground floor (except for the PRM changing room on the ground floor).

Surrounded by vegetation, the rest of the site consists of two city stadiums facing the building’s reception area, a covered basketball court at the back of the building and another football pitch to the side. A walkway, which resembles an athletics track, leads from the entrance through the building to the pitches.

The project has been conceived from a sustainable perspective, with an environmental ambition that meets the urban challenges of tomorrow: reducing environmental impact, reducing risks and nuisances, managing rainwater, increasing biodiversity, soil permeability and natural ventilation.
