Program

Refurbishment of the Anhembi exhibition and convention centre in São Paulo.

An exhibition centre hosts a variety of events, and therefore a variety of users: exhibitors, visitors, organisers, not forgetting the staff who work there.

The existing exhibition halls covered an area of 74,000 sqm. Given their dilapidated state, it was decided not to keep them and to rebuild an exhibition area of 60,000 sqm. However, the architectural identity of the façade was retained. Five new pavilions were therefore built, with the same appearance as the original pavilion. These new pavilions are separated by removable partitions so that they can function independently and host different events simultaneously.

The existing 12,000 sqm Convention Centre, with its “Celso Furtado” auditorium, is being restored and extended with additional meeting and convention rooms.

Twelve modular convention rooms will also be created. The largest rooms have been fitted with movable partitions so that rooms can be grouped together to create new areas with larger capacities. All rooms can be completely darkened.
