Heavy restructuring of an office building from the late 1970s and adaptation to current standards and lifestyles.
In the AGF (General Assurances of France) headquarters designed by the architects Joseph Belmont and Pierre-Paul Heckly and delivered in 1980, the bold urban challenge was to recreate a new urban fabric while keeping the site open to its environment, in a constrained context.
The main objectives of the renovation project are
– to respect the form and spirit of the building: of the 9 original pre-stressed concrete modules, only one is partially demolished
– to improve the amount of natural light
– bringing the building up to construction, safety and accessibility standards
– the development of a qualitative and flexible office building, adapted to current lifestyles: creation of shops and a multi-destination conference centre
– the integration of greenery
From the central hall, art permeates the entire building, in the stairwells, the corridors and on the executive floors.
