Construction of the Fréjus Saint-Raphaël agglomeration theatre.
The Fréjus theatre, Le Forum, includes a car park, an 850-seat auditorium, a 200-seat rehearsal room, dressing rooms and work areas (offices, logistics, etc.).
The volume is oriented in the logic of the pre-existing Roman buildings in the city. With its 80-metre long axis and elliptical shape, the amphitheatre is presented as a monolith. The perimeter of the theatre is surrounded by stone arches and is punctuated by vertical openings. The entrance to the audience is protected from the Mistral by a large canopy and leads to a huge hall which serves as an exhibition and meeting place and as a cultural centre.
All levels of the theatre have direct access to the main hall. In symmetry with this, a rehearsal room, on the second floor, favours the production of small shows. Soundproofed with double walls, this room is easily adjustable thanks to the telescopic bleachers. The workshops, warehouses and storage areas
The workshops, stores and storage areas are set back at the rear of the ellipse so as not to be seen from the square.
