Programme

Restructuring of an office building

In the heart of Paris, in the 8th arrondissement, the former headquarters of Altarea-Cogedim is being renovated for Gecina. Designed in 1940 by the architect Georges Regin, the building is flanked by Haussmann-style ashlar buildings.

In order to best reveal the existing project, a slight recess is formed on each opening on all floors. In addition, the large bay windows lighten the building, making it more porous while blending into the Parisian urban fabric. The ground-floor facades feature bay windows and full-height glazed access doors. The joinery is satin bronze anodised aluminium. The facades of the upper floors (R+1 to R+5) follow the same principle, with large bay windows comprising two full-height comfort vents. On the ground floor, the spaces are treated with a light-coloured stone and a white acoustic false ceiling.

To combat heat zones and provide pleasant landscaped areas, a patio, balconies and a terrace have been greened. The roof terrace houses a greenhouse and vegetable garden for office users.

The project offers comfortable, bright and flexible workspaces that can be rapidly transformed to suit different uses. The shape of the building make it possible to develop large floor areas on all levels.
