Program

Rehabilitation, modernisation and extension of the Palais des Congrès du Touquet, a theatre built in the 1920s.

The Congress Center is an important urban, architectural, cultural and economic issue for the town of Le Touquet. Located in the heart of a remarkable wooded site, it is a determining factor in the enhancement and development of the entire Hermitage area.

In order to compete with the many more recent facilities in the region, the Congress Center at The Touquet has been renovated and enlarged. Some of the lounges in the Europe Palace have new openings to the outside terrace to enhance the reception facilities. The Molière room has a glass roof, allowing a maximum of natural light to enter. The new independent auditorium, named “Maurice Ravel”, offers an additional 1,200 seats. Its architecture has been designed to create a harmonious whole, subtly combining the historic architecture of the site with contemporary aesthetics.

The architectural treatment of the new buildings marks the desire for transparency and openness. The four main components of the facades are based on the materials and colours already present in the existing building: terracotta, white rendering, white concrete and glass.
