Rehabilitation of the INSEAD campus buildings.
INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration, wishes to renovate its premises at the Fontainebleau site, which brings together 165 professors and more than 1,300 students each year. The first phase involves the renovation and interior fittings of a complex of three buildings.
The requalification of the site also requires taking into account the environment in dialogue with the remarkable buildings dating from 1971 by the architect Bernard de la Tour d’Auvergne. The philosophy of the project is to preserve this building, as with an intervention on a historic monument, in order to integrate new uses in accordance with current architectural criteria and the reorganisation of the new functions of the programme.
The volumetry is globally unchanged and remains scrupulously in conformity with the current template. The curtain walls, which are entirely transparent, will be changed by replacing the double-glazed volumes. The roofs are largely vegetated. They will not be accessible to the public. The project provides for the installation of photovoltaic and solar thermal panels for the production of electricity.
