Realisation of the Information and Communication Sciences and Technology campus, named SOPHIATECH.
The creation of the SophiaTech Campus allows the reinforcement of the "Information and Communication Technologies" pole of Sophia-Antipolis. The operation welcomes 3,000 students in the heart of Telecom Valley.
The campus includes the Ecole Polytechnique Universitaire, the premises of the EURECOM Institute as well as common reception and research premises (reception area, laboratories, 350-seat amphitheatre, cafeteria and association premises), a library and a sports centre. In order to respect the heavily wooded area of the southern slope, the buildings are located in a system perpendicular to the contour lines and originating in the already built-up part of the site.
From the main access, a succession of refined volumes rise up to allow the eye to pass through and to preserve the continuity of the vegetation; the high bars receive a glass envelope while the low bars clad in green slate become anchoring elements in the landscape, blending into the holm oaks.
