The residence is located at 40 Nonhyun-Dong in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul. The project included the design of the facades for the five residential buildings as well as for the facades of the commercial shops located at the southern edge of the site, and the entire definition of the base. The assignment also included landscaping.
In a privileged context and ideally located in Seoul, the project aims to recreate an atypical natural landscape with the main idea of living in a park. The general design favours the dynamism of the whole, offering the occupants a pleasant living environment, placing the plot in a new green setting.
The entire project is built on a white base. Our concept presents the facades as if they had been cut from a single stone, revealing a contrasting heart. It also presents the culmination of positive/negative, solid/empty, light/dark oppositions with a dark surface that is both smooth and textured, bound and framed by a light stone. The integration of the project in a hillside with a pronounced topography, allows the construction of a garden on 3 levels, thus favouring a rhythmic and surprising walk. The planting strategy is intended to be abundant to create a real plant canopy, with varied atmospheres.
