The Élysée stool was created in duplicate for the bedroom of the President of the Republic at the Élysée Palace, Paris (France).
In early 1982, the presidential couple decided to modernise the private flat at the Elysée Palace. The founding principle of the ensemble was based on the simplicity of the square: a perfect, balanced figure, a symbol of the house and of reason. Crafted in natural whitewashed oak, the ensemble is punctuated by mouldings in Thassos, a white marble from Greece. The coffee tables, the occasional lamps, the sofa and the joints in the carpet are all coordinated to maintain a beautiful balance and proportion.
