The Wilmotte & Industries design studio, through its work on composition and the balance of shapes and colours, aims to rediscover the obviousness of the object and the sensuality of the material. Research into Jacquard was inspired by the architect's identity, his artistic sensibility and his world of colours. Naturally, he has returned to the French art of weaving, which he was already involved with passion in the 80s, and whose technicality and language he has mastered.
Bath Club: For this collaboration with Le Jacquard Français, Jean-Michel Wilmotte forcefully transcribed the lines of the frameworks onto the fabric, drawing inspiration from the architectural structures of his own buildings. A lover of the material, the architect’s vocabulary comes to life, and the weave is like a sketchbook. A collection with a singular identity and clean, contemporary lines that invites you to relax.
Club: The patterns on the tablecloths and napkins reflect Jean-Michel Wilmotte’s architectural projects. The Jacquard warp and weft threads intertwine with precision and subtlety to sketch out the geometric pattern. The same constructive gesture can be found in the architectural structure of the building and in the weave of the Jacquard weave; the two respond and harmonise to create an intimate, contemporary and confidential universe.
