The Big Tie by Wilmotte collection, a collaboration between architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Maison Lelièvre, is a celebration of traditional French weaving, while introducing a modern, innovative perspective to textile design. The collection is the result of an in-depth exploration of the possibilities offered by the art of Jacquard weaving, renowned for its ability to create intricate, detailed patterns.

By reinterpreting the classic motifs of Jacquard-woven ties on an oversized scale, Jean-Michel Wilmotte not only seeks to magnify the quality of the fabric, he also aims to rethink their role and aesthetics in contemporary space. This approach is characteristic of his desire to create a dialogue between tradition and modernity, between the past and present of textile design.

The five chromatic universes chosen for the collection – Chalks, Graphites, Charcoals, Inks, Krafts – offer a palette of colors that can be harmoniously integrated into various environments and design contexts. These colors, combined with geometric patterns and textures, allow the collection to adapt subtly to architecture and furniture, enriching the space without imposing.
