Program

Construction and interior design of a house on the Ile de Ré.

In this holiday home, the project was to preserve the heritage of the place while giving it a contemporary character. The exterior character of the shipyard has been preserved.

The high industrial doors open onto a huge hall. The staircase connects the hangar, on the upper floor, with the rest of the house. To let the light in, there are few partitions and a glass opening gives a panoramic view of the port from the living room. The living room and kitchen are placed under a huge glass roof on the first floor.

The layout does not unbalance the spaces. The interior has been redesigned as a loft, with cream shades, oxidised steel and the stones of the old building. In the main room, the stained oak floor warms the room. The furniture, carefully chosen for each room, mixes styles, eras and artists.
