Program

Construction of an R+8 building to house the Paris campus of EM Normandie.

This new campus of 14,000 sqm spread over ten floors is a sign of EM Normandie's desire to welcome even more students and to develop in the capital. The site is located between the ZAC Entrée de ville and the historic city centre of Clichy. Because of its proximity to the Clichy-Batignolles urban project, the project is part of an urban renewal process for the city of Clichy.

The project develops through different levels of cascading terraces. The heights vary from R+1 to R+8 without exceeding 32m. In order to respond to a constrained urban context, the landscaping is at the centre of the project. Two patios are created and the roof terraces are planted to give the illusion of a natural landscape. The spread of the terraced roofs in the form of a cascade is adjusted to the heights of the neighbouring buildings, respecting the necessary recesses and preserving the light from the adjacent buildings. The green roof thus becomes the 5th façade of the project.

The design of the facades follows the principles of energy optimisation established according to their orientation. The metal frames act as solar protection and the variation in the spacing of the vertical blades allows for specific needs (light intake, solar radiation, alignment with the public space) to be met.
