Visible from the motorway and the surrounding hills, the energy complex is located in the Ariane district. It plays a key role in the Nice landscape, particularly as a major element of the eastern entrance to Nice. Today, the project to upgrade this complex is fully in line with the desire to restructure the district.

The main thrusts of the site redevelopment project are the construction of a selective sorting centre, architectural improvements to the existing buildings, and the demolition of the SUEZ site in order to construct a new building comprising a car park, administrative premises and areas to accommodate and train site staff or hold meetings to exchange views with local residents. For the new buildings, industrial-style materials were favoured, robust and uncluttered, in keeping with the primary nature of the programme. To harmonise the site’s overall architecture, a transparent curtain envelops part of the existing factory.
The site as a whole is unified by a landscaping project that aims to enhance the hillside to the north with a planted theme park, then to bring this vegetation down towards the south via the roofs, through the gaps in the buildings via the planted pergola and towards the forecourt via a pedestrian access.

We designed a building that blends into its site. A clear, translucent building that will provide a pleasant working environment that local residents will be able to rediscover.
