La Barrière Automatique commissioned Jean-Michel Wilmotte to design a complete collection of crash-tested urban furniture: a collection conceived to secure cities without altering their character. It is a first in the industrial world of perimeter security.
The collection already includes a fixed bollard, a slim bollard, several types of barriers, benches and a planter.
Each piece combines impact-resistance technology with refined lines, forming an urban collection that is both functional and harmonious.
Urbicande evokes a city where every line is designed to endure, where structures rise with an implacable logic. Its design expresses a calm, almost geometric strength—an ability to absorb impact without ever breaking.
I have always conceived public space as a place of encounter and elegance. Working with LBA was an opportunity to combine this dimension with a fundamental security challenge. The collection we have designed reconciles technical rigor with visual pleasure
