Residency

As part of a partnership with Paris Capitale Economique, we are hosting visual artist Sarah Ouhaddou for a four month creative and research residency.

Sara Ouhaddou is an artist who lives and works between Morocco and France. She was born in France into a Moroccan family, and this dual culture feeds her artistic practice like an ongoing dialogue. She manages to strike a balance between traditional art forms and the conventions of contemporary art, with the aim of repositioning the forgotten cultural continuities of artistic creation in new perspectives. She works in situ, creating works based on encounters with communities, craftspeople and researchers, while exploring heritage sites and objects. Each of her works is a learning project, an exchange of knowledge and intimate or universal stories.

Sara Ouhaddou studied at the Olivier De Serres School in Paris. She took part in the exhibition:Moroccan Trilogy (2021), Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain; Global Resistance (2020), Centre Pompidou, Paris, France, Manifesta Biennial, Trait-Union, Marseille (2020), Our world is burning, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2020), Islamic Art Festival, Sharjah (2017-2018), Crafts Becomes Modern, Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Germany (2017); Marrakech Biennial, Morocco (2016), and has also participated in the following programmes and residencies:Villa Albertine (2023), IASPIS Stockholm (2021/2022), Art Explora x La Cité Internationale des Arts (2021) and La Cité Internationale des Arts x Daniel and Nina Carasso (2020/2021).
