Herald Design Forum 2024
At the Herald Design Forum 2024, held in Seoul on October 8, architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte gave a talk on the theme of “Inspiration & Limitless”. In particular, he presented the refurbishment of the Centre Pompidou in Seoul, scheduled for 2025.
Seoul’s Centre Pompidou will be located in the Yeouido district. Jean-Michel Wilmotte describes the building as a “box of light”. The project is composed of massive glass panels, allowing natural light to circulate freely in an atmosphere designed to the display of artworks. Interior gardens punctuate the various spaces, offering visual breaks between the galleries. An approach that aims not only to showcase contemporary art, but also to establish a dialogue between modern architecture and Korean culture.
