Prize W 2020, Le Château de la Tour d’Aigues

Architecture

Foundation W

For this ninth edition of the W Prize, young graduates from all over Europe were invited to rethink the Château de la Tour d'Aigues around the theme of "Wine and Gastronomy". For this architectural graft to work, the programme had to integrate the art and ingenuity of the Luberon in terms of culinary talent.

For this W 2020 Prize, the Wilmotte Foundation selected 139 entries, all of which presented high-quality, innovative and creative projects, in keeping with the site and its future ambitions. Nine projects were awarded a prize, and three were finally selected by the jury. By going beyond the site to weave links with the village and the region, they contribute to making the Château de la Tour d’Aigues a central point of cultural influence in the region.

Jury: Jean-François Lovisolo, mayor of La Tour d’Aigues; Olivier Brochet, architect; Milena Chessa, journalist; Armel Ract-Madoux, director of international development at SETEC; Anne Demians, architect; Julien Rousseau, architect; Pierre-Antoine Gatier, ACMH; Pauline Polgar, director of the editorial office of Batiactu
