Prize W 2010, Versailles

Architecture

Foundation W

The theme of the 2010 competition breaks with the traditional pattern. It is rooted both in the recent heritage of the 20th century and in the ancient heritage of the city of Versailles, and opens up interesting creative perspectives for the participants.

The theme of the 2010 W Prize, the rehabilitation of the former BnF archives in Versailles, offers a reflection on a recent heritage integrated into an urban fabric steeped in history.

The jury: François de Mazières, former mayor of Versailles; Paul Trouillaud, ABF; Alain-Charles Perrot, ACMH; Olivier Brochet, architect; Edwin Heathcote, journalist at the Financial Times; Olivier Godet, from the Architecture Department of the DRAC Ile-de-France.
